Welkom bij het lectoraat gemeenteopbouw!
Het lectoraat gemeenteopbouw is onderdeel van de Academie voor Theologie van de CHE. Onder de Academie voor Theologie vallen de opleidingen Godsdienst Pastoraal Werk en Leraar Godsdienst / Levensbeschouwing. Het lectoraat houdt zich bezig met onderzoek naar kerken en gemeenten in een snel veranderende maatschappij. Bijzondere nadruk ligt daarbij op de positie van de hbo-theoloog of kerkelijk werker. In het Onderzoeksplan staat meer informatie over het lectoraatsonderzoek.

Information in English
The research group Practical Ecclesiology is part of the Academy of Theology at the CHE, Christian University of Applied Sciences in Ede (Netherlands). The Academy of Theology offers education on a BaTh-level for church workers and teachers.

The main focus of the research group is in the area of innovation of churches and Christian organizations in a changing society. Special attention is given to the (future) position of church workers (pastoral workers, evangelists, youth workers etc.) in Dutch denominations. Changes in society and church, like the 'transformation of religion' in the Western world, will affect this position to a great extent. 

The research group defines four different fields of investigation:
1. empirical information about BaTh graduates, in ministry and in secular positions.
2. mapping en influencing denominational attitudes regarding BaTh workers (juridical position, salary, teamwork etc.).
3. change and innovation in various ecclesial contexts, esp. regarding leadership. These contexts are: (a) churches in crisis, (b) churches undergoing a missional change process, (c) young churches and church plants, (e) migrant churches and multicultural churches.
4. theological reflection on leadership in the church (ministry, office etc.).

The research group wants to influence churches and society to create more and better jobs for BaTh graduates. Also, it wants to help churches in their mission in a postchristian society, by researching creative and innovative ways of being church.
